Season 1 of Crime Lord was released On Amazon Prime Video on May 31st.

This is a DIY project that took me about 4 years to get one season made. Made with about 5% crowdfunding, and 95% of my own savings, loans, credit cards. I took it to the very edge of my personal finances. Which I believe in doing at the start.

If you're not willing to risk your life security on the line, you can’t expect others to believe in you. I believe you have to put your money and your time where your mouth is. I never let go of this, despite crowdfunding campaign failures. Two years in a row.

It has the potential for a much bigger universe. However, life is short and time is precious, so I have no desire to take another 4 years to get season 2 in the can. Me and Steve (My Co-Star in the series) would be racing about in mobility scooters by the time we got to season 7! I’m happy to make it over the next five years, like a season a year, but not 30 years to get to season 7!

My point is, I really want to crank up the pace to build this to see if I can take it where I envisage it. If I can’t do that, then it’s time to let it go and just release it as a series of novels. Then come back in 5 years. I believe in the long term build of this a 100%, but not at the rate of an episode or two once a year. It just won’t grow that way. I would rather move on to other projects. However, I don’t quit that easy.

I have tried and failed in the past to make and release an episode a month. I failed because I just couldn't afford it.

The practicality of making and releasing an episode a month is easy for me if I could fund it. A month is plenty of time for a 25 min episode.

I got season 1 made over years, so I have to give myself some credit for that. But its now time to try one more shot at the monthly production and release approach. An episode a month for five years.

How will I do this? I have a little bit of money to get rolling, but I have a family now, so I can’t risk their lives with 100% self funding.

I’m going to try and see if I can get a ball rolling from early August. 50% of my own money and see if I can get traction going with 50% of some crowdfunding. I failed in the past two crowdfunding campaigns because my targets were too high, so I’m taking it back to a lower level this time.

The goal is just to get the ball rolling, and see if I can gather potential supporters along the way. Try and raise a few thousand in the first month. I would make and release the episode, and share tons of support content, to try and attract new followers, promoters, and supporters each month to help grow it. Which will also help promote season 1 and 2.

It’s ambitious to try and make and release an episode of fiction content a month over years.

But if I didn’t have this ambition level for this, it’s 100% going nowhere as a filmed series.

Hey, Season 1 might get spotted and remade in the future. We all have that dream stuff. But I’m not a dreamer. I don’t wait for the lottery. I believe in the day to day gritty harsh reality of life. Rolling up your sleeves and building your vision from the basement up approach.

I think people also want to see daily, weekly, and monthly raw ups and down. To put it simple, documenting, If you want to follow, Join me, get on board, share my posts, please watch the FB page. A huge thank you to everybody that has been following and sharing my project.

I’ll launch a small campaign early August with lots of fun perks. Come to a club party in the opening episode. If it fails, at least I know I gave it my best shot.
